2019 Research Positions, Designing for Public Space
Dates: January – May 2019
Application Deadline: December 5, 2018
Living Labs at Emily Carr is currently seeking qualified students for positions with the spring 2019 project Designing for Public Space.
Working with an interdisciplinary research team and stakeholders from public sites in Vancouver and Prince George, participants will support the conception and prototyping of proposals for public space. Utilizing principles adapted from architecture, urban design, industrial design and exhibition design practices, the project incorporates topics including context, way-finding, materiality and scale; as well as the collaborative and practical aspects of working in public space.
These positions are ideal for students interested in design for the built environment, public art, and community engagement. Students with active material practices are encouraged to apply.
