BGML is partnering with Canadian Association for Sound Ecology and The Only Animal, to investigate how listening, sound-making and land-based material art practices can help foster care for more-than-human lifeworlds. The project will explore sound walks, sound improvisation workshops, readings, discussions, natural dye workshops and botanical printmaking. Participating artists/facilitators include Rita Kompst (xʷməθkʷəy̓əm [Musqueam]), Toni-Leah C. Yake (Kanyen’kehà:ka [Mohawk]), Anju Singh, Liz Ellis, Adrian Avendaño, Lara Felsing (Métis), Audiotopie and the Branching Songs Ensemble.
Events will take place in Vancouver and are free and open to the public, but registration is required. If you would like to be added to a mailing list to receive updates on this program, please e-mail jandreyev@ecuad.ca or info@theonlyanimal.com
