People / Markus Schilling

Markus is a MA student at SFU’s School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT) working at the Everyday Design Studio.

As a designer he likes to work on projects that go beyond a screen and have a physical/tangible component. As a researcher he enjoys exploring fields such as slow technology, everyday design, SID, DIY, and speculative design. No matter what project he’s working on, he loves getting his hands dirty building prototypes.

Before he moved to Vancouver he lived and grew up in Germany where he received his BA in Interaction Design from a small but well known Design University, the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) in Schwäbisch Gmünd.

In his spare time he likes to do all kinds of sports, hang out with friends, listen to music, read books, take pictures, build stuff and do even more sports.
