Projects / Recycling Alternative: WHIZE | 2021 – 2022

Led by Laura Kozak, WHIZE project (Waste, Inclusive Hiring, Innovation + Zero Emissions) is working to develop and deliver applied design-led solutions for integrating the business functions and material outputs based on circular economy principles. This will involve stakeholder engagement and participatory design, service design and system mapping, production of infographics and data visualization. 

This initiative is part of Living Labs’ activities throughout 2021 – 2022, which will focus on circular economies and local ecologies.

Part of Design for Green Industry project, WHIZE is funded by The National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program.

Design for Green Industry will assist 11 SMEs with specific Industrial, Interaction, and Service Design problems, by assigning Emily Carr students to each project, where they will develop and implement applied solutions to design-driven gaps identified by SMEs throughout 2021 – 2022.
